We transformed this 1960s ranch style from an eyesore that was poorly placed on the lot and ignored the views, into a small, elegant, version of an East Coast shingle-style home. The owners wanted a California home with an East Coast feel that took advantage of the 180-degree Pacific Ocean views to the south and mountain views from the north. Improvements include wall space with abundant natural light to display art, and two home offices. The backyard was redesigned for relaxing, entertaining guests, displaying more art and included space for grandchildren to play. The new, second story aligns with the entry in the middle of the house and ties the former rambling wings of the old home together.
