As H. Dale Contant, MCR, CRPM, UDCP begins his new position as Board Chair, he will continue to focus on professional and educational opportunities. His commitment to NARI for the past 18 years is unwavering.
Tom Miller, CR, CKBR assumes the role of president after serving as President Elect, Secretary and Treasurer. His experience in NARI leadership also includes involvement at the local level, where he has served on several committees, the Board of Directors and the Executive Committee as Treasurer and Vice President of Milwaukee NARI/Home Improvement Council.
For the upcoming year, Miller’s focus as President will be on NARI’s direction of fostering professional growth within the industry, drawing from remodeling trends and technological advancements.
“As the ‘Voice of the Remodeling Industry,’ NARI members are on the forefront of home remodeling trends—from layout and accessibility to creating greener and more energy-efficient homes,” said Miller.
President Elect David R. Pekel, MCR, UDCP, CAPS, CCP is one of less than 100 Master Certified Remodelers in the United States. In addition, Pekel is a Universal Design Certified Professional, a Certified Aging in Place Specialist, a Certified Construction Professional and a Certified Lead Safe Renovator. He has been recognized by four past NARI Presidents on five different occasions since 1999 with the association’s esteemed President’s Award for his “extraordinary service and leadership to the remodeling industry.”
Treasurer Robert Kirsic, CKBR has served on NARI’s Executive Committee last year as Secretary. Kirsic brings a fresh new approach to the board and his leadership has won him awards year after year, most recently the 2017 NARI President’s Award.
The newest board member, Doug King, MBA, steps into the role of Secretary. King has over 25 years of business experience and has been involved on many levels with NARI at the Tampa Bay Chapter. He is also the Past President of a local BNI chapter and currently serves on the Affordable Housing Advisory Committee for the city of St. Petersburg. He is active in volunteering for Rebuild Together Tampa Bay, a non-profit group that aids low-income home owners, was House Captain for the Paris Whitehead Project in South St. Petersburg in 2010 and supports Toys for Tots.
NARI and its partners are looking forward to a successful year with this accomplished group of remodeling leaders.
