The Certified Remodeling Designer (CRD) online preparatory course is an eight week, structured study program, designed to help the attendees prepare for the CRD certification exam.
This prep course will develop your knowledge in the fundamentals of creating buildable remodeling designs, including:
- Developing functional designs within budget and existing conditions constraints
- Collaborating with the production team to develop more functional designs
- Uncovering the client’s true motivations and priorities to develop optimal design solutions within budget
- Setting client expectations for greater control of the design process
- Evaluating existing conditions for more informed design to avoid issues during the production phase
- Developing optimal layouts for kitchens, baths, and all other areas of the home while considering potential construction design obstacles
- Selecting appropriate materials, fixtures, and appliances based on their intended use.
- Supporting and informing the production team in executing the designer’s intended design

LENGTH: Eight consecutive weeks. One day per week, in two-hour sessions (5 pm -7 pm CST)

*Please note that this program requires knowledge of the NKBA’s Kitchen & Bath Planning Guidelines – Fourth Edition. These guidelines are an essential tool for designers and knowledge of these guidelines will be necessary to pass the certification exam.
