Breakout #1 : What the Next Economic Cycle Means for Your Bottom Line

The remodeling industry, like the broader housing industry, is cyclical. And as we slip into the bottom of another cycle, what does this mean for you and your business? While there is no shortage of opinions, it is hard to find verifiable facts and forecasts. In this session we'll take an unconventional approach to understanding the business cycle, cover how underlying economic forces are evolving, forecast what is most likely to happen over the year to come, and find some strategies for how to adapt and evolve as the housing, remodeling, and home improvement industry continue to change.

10:45 - 11:35 am

Breakout #2: Time Management Mastery

Are you and your team constantly fighting against the clock and not as productive as you should be? This Time Management Mastery session will help you take back control of your schedule by helping you identify your “time sucks” and help you develop the tools and plans to maximize your efficiency.

10:45 - 11:45 am

Chapter Executive Forum Meeting  (Invitation Only)

11:45 am - 12:35 pm

Breakout #3: Six Tips for Improving Cash Flow

Did you know that many businesses that fail are actually profitable? Poor cash management is the culprit that drains the life out of many successful companies. This session will help you understand the importance and impact of managing cash flow to improve the bottom line. Cash flow does not equal profitability. To be profitable, you must have the cash needed to keep your business operating efficiently. You will learn how to create a system to forecast and monitor cash flow, as well as develop procedures to manage receivables so that you can effectively organize vendor payments.

11:45 am - 12:35 pm

Breakout #4: No Free Work! Charge for your Design and Planning Work

Serve your clients better by charging them for design and planning work. Never do another proposal for free. You can gain the confidence to charge in this seminar by understanding where the bidding model came from, why we keep giving free proposals, and how to get to a place where clients will gladly pay a professional fee for your knowledge and expertise. Charging for design and planning work is a great way to add value to your clients and your company, along with additional revenue and cash flow.

12 - 2 pm

Lunch and Business Connections Lounge

1 - 2 pm

Chapter Executive Town Hall

Discussion with incoming President Andy Apter, CKBR, UDCP and CEO Christine Melendes, CAE

Breakout #5: Is your Remodeling Business Prepared for a Recession?

We all know the next one is approaching; the run-up to a recession starts with a subtle cooling after a hot market, and many are feeling that cooling already. The next recession may be inevitable, but its impact on a remodeling GC can be surprisingly controllable. While the usual advice may be valid (save money, trim your expenses, reduce your debt), there is a more head-on approach to addressing the underlying problems and developing a meaningful strategy to succeed and prosper. In this session, you will learn three key areas and be provided tools to protect your business and profits in an economic downturn that will also ensure your long-term business success.

2 - 2:50 pm

Breakout #6: Women in Remodeling Leadership Panel

Women are doing amazing work in every part of the remodeling industry, and these panelists will share their successes, the challenges they have faced, and the ways they have found to make their mark in the field. Together as a community, we hope to inspire more women to do the same!

3 - 3:50 pm

Breakout #7: Organizing for Success: Five Steps to Implement Standard Operating Procedures

This session will take business owners through a systematic 5-step process to implement "standard operating procedures" within their company. This is a required step for any owner who wants to lessen company dependence on them as an owner and to begin to effectively delegate day-to-day responsibility. With effective delegation, the owner can begin to take on more of a "strategic" role within his/her company, working on the business as well as working in the business. This is a key to becoming a true business owner.

9 - 9:50 am

Breakout #8: Customer Service is Sales

This presentation mixes humor with effective education that composes the “edu-tainment” that can be used in companies to deliver proactive training geared toward the team that is customer-facing while highlighting the benefits to the company and the individual.

10 - 10:50 am

Breakout #9: Profit More and Work Less

Have you ever wondered why you don’t have more money in the bank when you’ve been working so hard? Would you like to have the clarity and confidence to know exactly what you could do to increase your bottom line, have more cash in the bank and work less? If all that sounds too good to be true, let Vicki Suiter show you how you can make it your reality. In this session, Vicki will share strategies and secrets for keeping your prices up and costs down and show you how to build up your bottom line - all at the same time!

10 - 10:50 am
