This year, NARI National will be announcing the National CotY winners not only onsite during the Evening of Excellence reception at the Intercontinental Kansas City at the Plaza, in Kansas City, Mo., but also on a Webcast for the entire remodeling community to watch.

The presentation, sponsored by Pella and The Home Depot, will highlight 133 projects in 26 categories ranging from kitchens, baths, additions, exteriors, whole house and commercial remodels. Viewers should register and tune in on April 12 at 6:30 p.m. ET, 5:30 p.m. CT, 4:30 p.m. MT and 3:30 p.m. PT for the live CotY announcement, at www.nari.org/eveningofexcellence.

“We are sharing the excitement and anticipation of winning an award with all members and industry partners, and hopefully,

they will share it with their clients and employees as well,” says Dean Herriges, MCR, CKBR, NARI National President and president of Urban Herriges & Sons Inc., based in Mukwonago, Wis.

That is exactly what Dennis Gehman, CR, CKBR, CLC, president of Gehman Design Remodeling based in Harleysville, Pa., plans to do. “When we heard about the Webcast, we decided to have a big party in our showroom,” he says.

Gehman was named 2013 Northeast Regional CotY Winner in both the Residential Kitchen $80,001 to $120,000 and Residential Bath Over $60,000 categories.

He already has made personal phone calls to both clients to invite them and their families to his showroom to view the announcement on April 12. “It’s after work so I’m hoping they will stop by on their way home,” Gehman says.

Invitations will be extended to his employees, their families and colleagues from the NARI-BIE of Pottstown chapter.

He also plans to have his sales team invite prospects or design clients to the event. The event has turned into a useful marketing tool for getting prospects into his showroom and touting his achievements in a more personal, interactive way.

During the event, Gehman is setting up multiple TVs around the room hooked up to the Webcast and serving hor d’oeuvres and drinks.

“I love the idea, and we are very excited about using the Webcast to celebrate our CotY awards, and, hopefully our wins,” Gehman says.

NARI encourages you to host an Evening of Excellence party of your own with your fellow chapter members, clients or trade contractors. And don’t forget to connect with NARI and other attendees on Twitter, using the hashtag #EofE2013.

The Webcast will be available for 30 days following the initial announcement.
