NARI needs stories about availability of credit

As outlined in NARI’s 2013-14 legislative priorities, NARI is concerned about the lack of access to financing and credit available to your consumers.

NARI is working with a coalition that includes the National Association of Realtors (NAR) and the National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB) to educate legislators and regulators on how provisions of the Dodd-Frank law—including requirements on appraisers, Realtors and the mortgage sector—impact the availability of credit.

This is where NARI members can provide input. NARI is looking for stories from you, about the trouble your clients or potential clients have had receiving financing to complete their remodeling projects.

Please send information to marketing@nari.org. Please include the following:

  • Total cost of project
  • Type of financing clients were pursuing
  • Reasons (if you’re aware) of why financing didn’t come through
  • City and state of project location

These responses will be compiled and used by the coalition to better educate Congressional leaders on how this is impacting small businesses.
