Platinum Partner Provides Small-duct HVAC Solutions for Older Homes

NARI welcomes its newest Industry Partner, Unico, Inc., at the Platinum level to develop relationships with NARI members nationwide. Maker of small-duct heating and air conditioning systems, Unicos’ partnership with NARI will focus on collaborating with remodeling contractors who face challenges of adding central air in older homes, as well as options for home additions that would be impossible to design with conventional HVAC systems.

Set Yourself Apart – Certified Remodeler Is One Way

My husband, Bill and I have been doing residential remodels since 1990. We became NARI members in 1999 and became actively involved in the Idaho chapter shortly thereafter. I served on the local board in various positions, including president, and got the opportunity to attend national meetings and conferences. At those conferences, I realized the importance of education and certification. Since I’ve always loved learning, I decided to take the Certified Remodeler exam myself to see what it was all about.

“Internet of Things” Influences Customer Expectations

I consider it a privilege to be with you in April when I provide a keynote at NARI’s 2017 Spring Business Meeting in Scottsdale, Arizona.  The conference theme is “Ideas That Move You.” Get ready to explore the future of residential remodeling and the consumer experience. We’ll start at the intersection of what the consumer expects and demands juxtaposed with best practices in our industry. Consumer expectations are changing at a rate that is faster than at any time in recent history.

Refurbishing Service

The lake house started its life as a one-room schoolhouse moved to waters edge as a fishing cabin on Cedar Creek Lake in East Texas.  The septic system was a 50-gallon drum and a twelve-foot drain field (the length a small backhoe can reach)!  Over the years various owners enlarged and improved the cabin.  We bought it in a fire sale and decided to refurbish it so everything was up to code and modern, including smart-home features, a two-car carport, cathedral ceilings, fireplaces, and an industrial strength kitchen—and a large spa.  After a few bids, we hit the jackpot with Richard Goins.
