THE KCMA QUALITY SEAL – THE TEST OF “TIME”

When cabinets earn the KCMA Quality Certification Seal, it means they have gone through an extensive testing process to ensure they meet a stringent set of construction standards. There are 4 different categories of testing:

  • Structure Tests
  • Door Tests
  • Drawer Tests
  • Finish Tests
WHAT THE KCMA QUALITY CERTIFICATION MEANS
The KCMA Quality Certification Seal means cabinets have met the criteria of the ANSI/KCMA A161.1 Standard. To begin the process for certification, cabinet manufacturers must ensure the cabinet line(s) they are looking to certify meet an initial 14 requirements. After these are met, 4 categories of tests are conducted. Successfully passing these tests proves that the cabinets are well-made, durable, and able to withstand everyday wear and tear. In short, the KCMA Quality Certification Seal means the cabinets have successfully passed testing, under accelerated conditions, which is designed to be the equivalent of many years of normal use.
