ART Design Build with team member Grossmueller's Design Consultants, Inc., Bethesda, MD
Retention of the home’s character was first and foremost in this client’s mind, while the need for space motivated the change. The Cape Cod home was a rabbit warren of small, tight, isolated spaces. Anticipating the future, the client wanted a floor plan that maximized space, opened traffic flow and increased the total living area. We built two additions, and dormers in the roof allowed the additional space connect to the kitchen, family, and dining rooms. On the second level, we created a private master retreat, three bedrooms and a bath that will accommodate the family for years to come.
