This 1941 Bungalow had a narrow, awkward kitchen that was closed off from the rest of the home. The space was transformed into a warm, open, modern kitchen by removing walls and reducing a full-sized bath to a three-foot wide powder room, which created additional functional kitchen space for the homeowners. The new design includes white countertops with a white tile backsplash and grey grout, open shelving and stainless steel appliances. Warmth was added throughout the space with wood-toned cabinets and shelves, a complimentary floor finish and leather stools. Significant issues with the existing floor and ceiling systems created challenges, but the resulting layout superbly met the remodel’s objectives.
