2017 Region 5 South Central CotY Award Winner, Commercial Exterior
The clients wanted to create and incorporate an outdoor play area into an existing outdoor arena. Retaining the natural environment without damaging existing habitat plants, emphasizing all trees and controlling erosion was imperative. Large wooden walkways were built, starting at the highest level and follow the natural terrain of the area. Musical megaphones were installed from one end to other. A crossing swinging bridge over water to get to other side ends with a long, winding slide. A reclaimed fiberglass drainage tunnel was used to create a long, crawling tunnel. A highlight to the reading area is a library made out of a hollowed out tree log to match the natural environment.
