The clients who own this 1935 home want to live in it for the rest of their lives. This desire, coupled with their professional backgrounds in gerontology, were the driving forces for this Universal Design addition. This fully accessible bungalow addition is connected to the main house through a porte-cochère for wheel-chair accessibility, and includes an attached garage with a screened-in breezeway for outdoor relaxation, all with zero barriers. The Universal Design bungalow has a living room, kitchenette, bathroom and large bedroom. The entire property is in sync with the original design, which is also net-zero for energy consumption.
