The owners had lived in their home for many years without ever remodeling the structure. The home was built with a tiny kitchen and a rear lanai that was later enclosed and separated by a masonry wall. To improve flow, the rear masonry wall was removed and the flat roof lanai was enlarged to become the new family room. Adding a vaulted ceiling in the enlarged family room and reconfiguring the appliance layout in the new kitchen helped create a perfect space for the clients’ needs. Transitional design style elements include white shaker cabinetry, natural stone countertops and mosaic tile in the kitchen. Wood flooring and strategically placed lighting was added throughout. The large picture windows on the rear elevation offer expansive panoramic water views.
